Big Bang!

The epiphany – that one – that gives origin to everything, from concept to campaign, to great ideas – this epiphany doesn’t come from nowhere. It is a 16-year-old process that gets better every day, in every new job.

Our “big bang” is fed by asymmetry – and perhaps that’s the greatest merit of Versa: making a harmonious team with completely different people. Opposites but at the same time very close people, with several backgrounds that aggregate value to every project.

This is Versa: design, incentive, planning, promotion, merchandising and brand activation, by innovating and transforming, inventing, reinventing and creating way before that first epiphany.

Creativity, perseverance and balance are remarkable characteristics of Sergio Paparelli’s personality. The partner and founder of Versa is a typical person from the city of São Paulo. He’s responsible for the administrative and production departments and has always added his personal experiences to the management of the agency.

With a degree in plastic arts, Paparelli has worked for over 10 years with publicity illustration and in his history he has also sideline activities with photography, pottery, bonsai cultivation and competition bicycling.

Sergio can put discipline, balance and objectivity into everything he does. “That’s who I am. Everything in life needs to have a beginning, middle and an end, and that’s achieved with a lot of willpower and courage. These are the principles of bicycling and I carry this experience through my life, even to Versa”.

“Calé” is the name chosen by Carlos Eduardo (myself) to refer to himself. I’ve been called of so many things that I decided to have a name that would introduce in a better way the cartoonist that I’ve always been. I used to study to be a journalist, but communication took me to a more visual path and then to the business world with customers.

I’m also Corinthians (a soccer team from São Paulo). Please, note that I am Corinthians, and not just a supporter. It’s just that to me to be Corinthians means so much more than just cheering for Timão (which is the team’s nickname). It’s to believe that it will always work out. Even in the toughest moment, at the last minute we will turn the game over and make something extraordinary. That’s me – cartoonist at heart, journalist by vocation and being Corinthians at Versa by a happy choice. And always a believer.
